Trimethyl borate, or boron trimethoxide, has formula B(OCH₃)₃. It is a clear liquid. It melts at −34 °C and boils at 68-69 °C. It decomposes in contact with water. It is flammable and burns with a green flame.
It is primarily used as a precursor to boronic esters and boronic acids for Suzuki couplings. Other uses include :
